Baker Pond 2008

We just came back from several days up in New Hampshire at Baker Pond. We were up there in two houses with 5 other families, including 8 other boys and one other girl ranging in age from 3 to 10. We actually survived! It was inspired by our great time last year with the other kids -- and it was indeed a great thing to do again.

The weather the first two days was cold and rainy, which was hard with so many kids bouncing off the walls. Then yesterday and today it was gorgeous, which made it all worthwhile. We kayaked, swam, walked, picked berries, ran around, and the kids played together all day with real and imagined toys. Ethan had fun playing with Dave and Amy's kids M.(3) and L. (5), and Jane and Max's son Finn (4), and of course Rich and Jennifer's twins M. and J. (who are both 4, plus a lot of extra energy). The older boys (ages 8-10) made their mischief, mostly on the tennis court and fishing.

Our family vacations are done for the season -- we’re in town for the rest of the summer.
