Lime Rock Raceway

This past weekend we went out to Lenox, stayed a night, and then went to the Lime Rock Raceway to see some fast cars. We went to the Berkshire Museum while we were out there, and we went to my favorite chocolate place, Chocolate Springs. It was fun seeing the cars zip around the racetrack, and it made Mark really happy to have us there with him.

Not sure why, but Ethan managed to complain about 80% of the time during the entire trip. He was most happy to be able to sleep in the same room as us (he really doesn't like sleeping alone). Everything else he grouched about. He was probably just very tired, but it was really unpleasant being around him. Still, it was nice to finally get away with the family, and the weather was perfect.

Last night we had a potential contractor stop by the house. Ethan noticed his accent, and asked him if he was born in the U.S. The man said no, and explained where he was from. I thought about mentioning that Ethan wasn't born here either, but then I kept my mouth shut to see if Ethan would bring it up himself. He did not, and I was glad I didn't say anything.

I wish I knew what people said to Ethan about adoption when I'm not with him. The mom of the other internationally adopted boy in his class mentioned that her son had used language that they didn't use at home to talk about adoption. Around the same time Ethan used similar language, which we also don't hear at home. They almost certainly has something happen, but neither will talk about it since discussing the day is considered 'boring'.
