Adirondacks

We seem to be taking a lot of trips! This weekend we drove to the Adirondacks to visit Ethan’s aunt and uncle and cousins. Ethan said he likes to travel because he gets to play his Nintendo game and watch more DVDs.

We stayed in a little cabin on a lake, took a few hikes, and Ethan absorbed as much attention from his family as he possibly could. It’s amazing to me how much he’s matured in the last six months!

Last weekend his big sister Jen came over with her husband Tim, and Ethan got everyone engaged in a big Nerf gun fight. It was so inspiring that Jen and Tim went out and got their own Nerf guns.

Meanwhile, Ethan has been going to reading camp every morning for the past few weeks. He spends three hours in the morning with six other kids and a teacher and aid. We've seen a lot of progress, and the best part is that he's enjoying going, probably in part because he's at the same level as the other kids in the group. It turns out that his teacher, who he really likes, will be teaching him in second grade in the fall too.
